Stored XSS via unescaped dropdown field output
Published Jul 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Fluent Forms 5.1.19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through crafted dropdown fields. Dropdown field data is stored without sufficient sanitization and later rendered without adequate output escaping, causing embedded script to run when an affected page is opened. Exploitation requires Administrator-level access and a multisite installation or a site where unfiltered_html is disabled; execution occurs in a visitor's browser.
