Administrator-session script execution via reflected tagname
Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Reflected XSS in Dotsquares DS CF7 Math Captcha before 3.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted AJAX request. The dscf7_refreshcaptcha action returns the tagname parameter in its response without sanitizing or escaping it for HTML output. Exploitation requires a high-privilege administrator to submit the crafted request, after which injected script runs in that browser session.
