Stored XSS via unsanitized script setting
Published Aug 5, 2024 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
Stored XSS in Chatbot for WordPress by Collect.chat before 2.4.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via plugin settings. The settings handler stores the collectchat-plugin-settings[script] value without sanitization and later renders it without escaping. Administrator privileges and a valid settings nonce are required, and execution occurs when the stored output is viewed, even where unfiltered_html is disabled.
