Poll deletion via unchecked cross-site request
Published Aug 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 7, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Dmytro Popov Light Poll 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete polls through a logged-in user. The poll-removal action at wp-admin/admin.php?page=lp_settings accepts task=remove and a poll id from a cross-site GET request without a CSRF check. Exploitation requires a logged-in user with permission to manage polls to open attacker-controlled content, and the demonstrated consequence is deletion of a selected poll.
