Stored XSS via unescaped upload metadata
Published Aug 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 7, 2024
Stored XSS in Iptanus File Upload before 4.24.8 allows remote attackers to inject script through public upload-form custom fields. The plugin stores custom-field values submitted with an upload and renders that userdata without escaping in File Browser, File Details, and View Log. Execution requires an administrator to open Uploaded Files and select View details, causing the script to run in that administrator’s browser.
