XSS via executable loading-state markup
Published Jul 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
XSS in Bootstrap 1.4.0 through 3.4.1 and bootstrap-sass 2.3.2 through 3.4.3 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript. The button plugin treats attacker-controlled data-loading-text content as executable markup when its loading state is triggered. Exploitation requires a page to place attacker-controlled content in that attribute and a user to trigger the button state, leading to script execution in the page context.
