CVE-2024-6473

Local privilege escalation via untrusted DLL search

Published Sep 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024

DLL hijacking in Yandex Browser for Desktop before 24.7.1.380 allows local users to gain privileges through an untrusted search path. The browser resolves a DLL through that path, allowing an attacker-controlled library placed earlier in the search order to load; Yandex has not disclosed the executable, library, or directory involved. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access, and the loaded code can affect the browser and subsequent system components.
