Administrator-level code execution via poisoned PHP logs
Published Aug 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024
Code injection in Jordy Meow AI Engine before 2.5.1 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute PHP code. The settings update endpoint accepts a logs_path ending in .php, and server debugging writes attacker-controlled error text into that web-accessible file. Administrator access is required to enable debugging and set the path; requesting the poisoned log then executes commands with the web server's privileges.
