CVE-2024-6449Network attack vector

Script execution via unrestricted cross-domain content fetch

Published Aug 28, 2024 · Updated Jan 9, 2025

Cross-domain policy bypass in HyperView Geoportal Toolkit before 8.5.0 allows remote attackers to load scripts through a crafted link. A REST API endpoint treats a GET parameter as a remote-content URL and fetches it without restricting the destination domain, causing fetched JavaScript to execute in the user's context. A user must open the link; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled script and can use the server to enumerate some devices on its LAN.
