CVE-2024-6436Network attack vector

Service interruption via malformed server packets

Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Oct 3, 2024

Improper input validation in Rockwell Automation SequenceManager before 2.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt its server service. The server accepts malformed network packets and becomes unresponsive, but Rockwell has not disclosed the affected parser or rejected field. No authentication or user interaction is required; operators lose status and command visibility until a manual restart, while controller equipment sequences continue executing.
