CVE-2024-6402Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Device crash via oversized devName stack write

Published Jun 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda A301 15.13.08.12 allows remote attackers to crash the device through a crafted devName value. The /goform/SetOnlineDevName handler passes the POST-supplied value to set_device_name, where sprintf writes it plus a suffix into the fixed 256-byte mib_vlaue stack array without a length bound. Remote reachability to the management endpoint is the documented gate, and the grounded consequence is device availability loss rather than established code execution.
