Unauthenticated media upload via missing capability check
Published Jul 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Missing authorization in Cozmoslabs Profile Builder before 3.11.8 allows remote attackers to upload media files through WordPress. The wppb_upload_file_type() function omits a capability check, so a crafted multipart request to wp-admin/async-upload.php reaches WordPress media handling. No account or user interaction is required; successful requests add attacker-supplied media files to the site, without a demonstrated code-execution path.
