Stored XSS via unvalidated post-grid tag attribute
Published Jul 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in the post-grid block in Ultimate Blocks before 3.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via block attributes. The server-side renderer outputs the postTitleTag attribute as an HTML tag name without validation or escaping, so a crafted img tag with an onerror handler persists in a post. Contributor access is required to save the crafted block, and execution occurs when another user previews or views the post, exposing that user's browser session to script actions.
