CVE-2024-6351

Service interruption via malformed NWK/APS packet

Published Jan 28, 2025 · Updated Feb 18, 2025

Buffer overflow in Silicon Laboratories Simplicity SDK before 2024.12.0 allows physically proximate attackers to trigger an assert. The Ember ZNet NWK/APS packet-processing path copies data from a malformed packet beyond the destination buffer bounds, causing the stack assertion. No privileges or user interaction are required, but the attacker must be within adjacent-network range; the documented consequence is a service interruption rather than data access or modification.
