CVE-2024-6336Network attack vector

Private repository disclosure via organization rulesets

Published Jul 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Information disclosure in affected GitHub Enterprise Server releases before 3.14 allows remote attackers to read private repository data. GitHub states that organization-ruleset handling exposes sensitive information when a dependent repository changes from private to public, but lower-level implementation details are undisclosed. Exploitation requires an organization member to make that visibility change; only confidentiality impact is reported.
