Unauthenticated code execution via AJAX file inclusion
Published Aug 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024
Local file inclusion in the GMW WordPress plugin before 4.5.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute PHP code through a crafted AJAX request. The gmw_info_window_init AJAX action accepts form[info_window_template][content_path] and includes the referenced local path in PHP's execution context without restricting the path to an approved template. An existing server-side file and a valid object_id are required; code execution additionally depends on a usable PHP or PHAR payload.
