Unauthenticated arbitrary file upload via insufficient validation
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in IQ Testimonials 2.2.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to place dangerous files on a WordPress server. The process_image_upload function fails to enforce sufficient file-type validation when handling an uploaded testimonial image. Exploitation requires the PHP GD extension to be absent; successful abuse writes an attacker-chosen file, and server-executable content enables code execution.
