Authenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Jun 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Unrestricted upload in SourceCodester Simple Online Bidding System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP via a crafted img upload. The save_settings action accepts an img part named with a .php extension and stores it in the web-accessible admin/assets/uploads directory without rejecting executable types. A valid administrative PHP session is required; requesting the stored file invokes server-side PHP and exposes the application host to code execution.
