CVE-2024-6244Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Profile-picture overwrite via nonce-less avatar upload

Published Jul 22, 2024 · Updated Mar 19, 2025

CSRF in Project Zealous PZ Frontend Manager before 1.0.6 allows remote attackers to change a user's profile picture via a forged request. The pzfm_upload_avatar_callback() AJAX handler accepts attacker-supplied imageData and userID values without validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to submit the forged request, and the demonstrated consequence is an unauthorized profile-picture replacement.
