Stored XSS via unescaped form messages
Published Jul 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in HTML Forms before 1.3.33 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through configurable form messages. The form editor stores message inputs without sanitizing them and later renders those values without output escaping. Administrator-level access is required to store the payload, and a visitor must submit the form and interact with the displayed message to execute it.
