CVE-2024-6242Network attack vector

Project modification via Trusted Slot bypass

Published Aug 1, 2024 · Updated Sep 25, 2025

Authorization bypass in Rockwell Automation Logix devices allows remote authenticated users to modify controller projects and configuration. An affected 1756 chassis module accepts CIP commands through an alternate channel that bypasses the controller's Trusted Slot restriction. Network access with low privileges and an affected module in the chassis is required; exploitation changes user projects or device configuration.
