CVE-2024-6239Network attack vector

Service crash via unchecked destination names

Published Jun 21, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2025

Improper input validation in Poppler pdfinfo 24.06.0 through 24.06.1 allows remote attackers to crash the utility via a malformed PDF. The printDestinations path passes nullable names from the PDF destination name tree or destination dictionary into string handling without first rejecting null values. Reachability requires a workflow to process the crafted document with -dests, and the reported consequence is limited to interruption of that utility process.
