Database data extraction via unescaped API parameter
Published Jul 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in PayPlus Payment Gateway before 6.6.9 allows remote attackers to extract WordPress database data via a WooCommerce API route. The unauthenticated wc-api=payplus_gateway handler places the attacker-controlled more_info parameter into an SQL statement without adequate sanitization, escaping, or preparation. A crafted more_info expression can delay the database response as a time-based oracle, enabling data extraction without an account.
