Unauthorized field changes via unvalidated AJAX requests
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Just Custom Fields 3.3.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter field settings via forged AJAX requests. Several administrator-facing AJAX functions omit or incorrectly perform WordPress nonce validation before accepting state-changing requests. Exploitation requires an administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link or otherwise submit the forged request, after which field groups and item visibility can be changed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
