Stored XSS via unescaped widget settings
Published Aug 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024
Stored XSS in Category Posts Widget Free before 4.9.17 and Pro before 4.9.13 allows remote authenticated users to run browser scripts. The Template field's %more-link% token causes the Read more text setting to be rendered without validation or output escaping. An administrator must save the malicious widget settings; any visitor who then loads a page containing the widget executes the payload in that browser session.
