Robot stop via unchecked PROFINET message
Published Oct 10, 2024 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
Null pointer dereference in the PROFINET stack in ABB RobotWare 6 before 6.15.06 allows attackers to stop an IRC5 robot. The stack processes a specially crafted PROFINET message without validating its input and dereferences a null pointer. Exploitation requires access to the controller network and interrupts robot operation without a reported confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=6.0.0 <6.15.06 except 6.10.10, and 6.13.07
