Authenticated arbitrary file upload via missing type validation
Published Jun 19, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Pexels: Free Stock Photos 1.2.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place arbitrary files on the server. The pexels_fsp_images_options_validate function accepts file content without validating its type before the plugin stores it. Contributor-level WordPress access is required; code execution follows when the server treats an uploaded file as an executable script.
