Unauthenticated account takeover via reset-code brute force
Published Jun 19, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Weak password recovery in OTP Login With Phone Number 1.7.34 and earlier allows remote attackers to reset arbitrary user passwords. The password-reset flow issues a six-digit numeric code and accepts unlimited guesses without expiring the code or limiting attempts. No authentication is required; a successful guess changes the target user's password and permits control of that WordPress account.
