Remote code execution via unvalidated photo upload
Published Jun 18, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Simple Online Hotel Reservation System 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute code via the photo field. The edit_room.php handler takes an uploaded filename and contents from PHP's $_FILES data and stores them without validating or cleaning the file. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation stores attacker-controlled PHP that the web server can execute.
