Account takeover via reusable revoked invite tokens
Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Improper access control in Lunary before 1.4.9 allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts through revoked invite tokens. The invitation workflow leaves its one-time authentication token valid after the invitation is retracted, allowing the token to yield a valid JWT for a password reset. Access to the invite-user function is required, and resetting the targeted user's password grants control of that account.
