Organization renaming via missing role authorization
Published Jun 27, 2024 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Lunary before 1.4.10 allows remote authenticated users to rename an organization through its update API. The organization-update route calls an unimplemented checkAccess() function and applies the requested name change without a role authorization decision. Any authenticated account, including the lowest-privileged Prompt Editor role, can alter organization metadata, with no reported read or availability impact.
