Device outage via malformed CIP Security packets
Published Sep 12, 2024 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Improper input validation in Rockwell Automation Logix controller firmware allows remote attackers to disable affected devices. The CIP Security Object accepts specially crafted network packets without adequate validation, leaving the controller or communication module unavailable. No authentication or user interaction is required when the object is network-reachable, and recovery requires a factory reset.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
