Email enumeration via password-reset response discrepancy
Published Jun 17, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Observable response discrepancy in Laravel Starter 11.0 through 11.8 allows remote attackers to enumerate registered email addresses. The /forgot-password password-reset handler returns different responses for registered and unregistered Email values instead of a uniform result. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the disclosed consequence is limited to learning whether an email address belongs to an account.
