Published Jun 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Creative Motion Auto Featured Image 1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files to the server. The create_post_attachment_from_url function creates a WordPress attachment from a supplied URL without validating the downloaded file's type. Contributor-level access is required; executable server-side content can lead to code execution when the host serves it as active content.
