CVE-2024-6045

Device takeover via Telnet-enabling factory backdoor

Published Jun 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Hidden functionality in D-Link EAGLE PRO AI and AQUILA PRO AI firmware allows remote attackers on the local network to take over devices. A specific URL activates Telnet, after which hard-coded administrator credentials recovered from the firmware grant management access. Reachability requires local-network access; successful use exposes device configuration and permits administrative changes or service interruption.
