CVE-2024-6031

Code execution via unchecked AT-response heap copy

Published Apr 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 30, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in oFono on Tesla Model S before 2024.2 allows local users to execute code through crafted AT responses. The AT-response parser copies user-supplied data into a heap buffer without first validating its length, allowing the copy to exceed the allocation. Reachability requires existing code execution on the vehicle's modem; successful exploitation executes code in the device context.
