Stored XSS via unrestricted Custom JS setting
Published Jun 14, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in the WP Go Maps Custom JS option through 9.0.38 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The setting accepts JavaScript from administrator-authorized lower-level users, and the plugin later emits it into map pages without neutralization. An administrator must explicitly grant plugin permissions to a contributor-level account; viewing an affected page executes the stored script in that visitor's browser.
