Subscriber-level chatbot token overwrite via unchecked session update
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Cliengo – Chatbot 3.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to overwrite the chatbot session token. The update_session AJAX handler accepts a submitted session token and updates the chatbot setting without checking an administrative capability. Subscriber-level WordPress access is sufficient, and the resulting token replacement can disrupt the chatbot's configured session.
