Stored XSS via unsanitized image Alt text
Published Oct 9, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024
Stored XSS in Photo Gallery by 10Web before 1.8.28 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via Gallery image settings. The Alt/Title field in an image's Gallery settings stores HTML event-handler payloads without adequate sanitization or output escaping, and embedded or previewed galleries render the payload in a viewer's browser. Exploitation requires high-privilege gallery-editing access, such as an administrator in a multisite configuration where unfiltered_html is disabled, and enables script actions with the viewing user's session.
