CVE-2024-5919Network attack vector

Authenticated file exfiltration via blind XXE

Published Nov 14, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024

Blind XXE injection in Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS allows remote authenticated users to exfiltrate arbitrary firewall files. Palo Alto Networks has not identified the affected management endpoint or parser; the disclosed behavior causes attacker-supplied XML external entities to send file contents to an attacker-controlled server. Exploitation requires high-privilege authentication and network access to the firewall management interface, and the reported consequence is arbitrary-file exfiltration.
