Stored XSS via unescaped Button shortcode URL
Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Arnold Goodway Neighborly 1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the Button shortcode. The shortcode accepts the url parameter without sufficient sanitization and emits it without adequate output escaping, persisting attacker-controlled markup in a page. Contributor-level access or higher is required, and the script runs whenever a user visits the injected page.
