Unauthenticated Square disconnection via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Jul 24, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in WP Easy Pay 4.2.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to disconnect a configured Square account via an AJAX request. The wpep_square_disconnect() AJAX handler removes stored Square authorization data without checking the caller's capabilities. Any unauthenticated network client can sever the site's payment-service connection, interrupting Square-backed payment processing until the account is reconnected.
