Reflected XSS via unencoded service response
Published Feb 27, 2025 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Reflected XSS in affected WSO2 API Manager and Open Banking AM releases allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in a user's browser. The deployed OpenService Synapse API returns user-controlled data in its response without validation, sanitization, or output encoding. Exploitation requires a user to follow a crafted request; gateway restrictions can block the endpoint, and httpOnly cookies limit session theft.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
