Security UI obfuscation via malicious file
Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Inappropriate implementation in Google Chrome Downloads before 126.0.6478.54 allows remote attackers to obfuscate security UI via a malicious file. Google identifies the Downloads component but has not disclosed the faulty operation or how the file causes the interface to conceal or misrepresent a warning. Reaching the flaw requires user interaction with attacker-supplied file content; the bounded result is deceptive download-related UI rather than a published browser compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
