Authenticated command execution via unquoted registry alias
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Command injection in Renovate 37.158.0 before 37.199.0 allows remote authenticated users with commit access to execute arbitrary commands. The helmv3 artifact updater inserts each attacker-controlled registryAliases key into a shell-form helm repo add command without quoting it. Exploitation requires a crafted configuration on the default branch of a processed repository and grants full access to Renovate's execution environment.
