Administrator-seeded script execution via unsanitized Forum Name
Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in 94cb Carbon Forum 5.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in visitors' browsers. The dashboard's Forum Name setting stores an administrator-supplied script payload and later renders it on forum pages without neutralizing executable markup. Administrator access is required to plant the payload; any visitor who loads the forum then executes it, exposing session data and permitting actions in that visitor's session.
