Admin-authenticated code execution via upload filter bypass
Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in xbtitFM 4.1.18 allows remote authenticated users with administrative privileges to execute PHP code. The file_hosting upload check trusts a forged image/gif Content-Type and GIF89a header, while its PHP-tag filter misses mixed-case <?pHp payloads. The feature must be enabled and administrative access is required; a bypassed upload can place a web shell in the web-accessible file_hosting directory and run system commands.
