Pre-authentication command execution via traversed JSP upload
Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in BMC AMI iStrobe Web 20.13 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted request. The /istrobe/userHelp/saveUserHelp handler accepts ../ sequences in the fileName parameter and writes attacker-controlled JSP content beneath the executable web root. Guest access must be enabled; a submitted JSP web shell can then run commands with the web application's privileges.
