Stored XSS via unsanitized administrator settings
Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025
Stored XSS in XMB Forum 1.9.12.06 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute JavaScript in forum users' browsers. The template editor and Front Page Options store footer-template and news-ticker input without neutralizing executable HTML or JavaScript before rendering it. Administrator privileges are required to plant a payload, which then runs for any forum user who views a page containing the affected footer or ticker.
