Stored XSS via unsanitized post titles
Published Dec 10, 2025 · Updated Dec 10, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Chyrp 2.5.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via crafted post titles. The add_post handler accepts the multipart title field, stores its HTML payload, and later renders it to post viewers without effective neutralization. A valid author session is required to publish the payload, and a viewer must open the post; resulting script execution exposes session data and permits actions in that viewer's context.
